A quick experiment to show the depth of field of the Canon EF 50mm F1.4 lens open at its largest aperture.
At this f-stop and distance the depth of field is only about 3cm, and the effect can be clearly seen as I shift the focus from just in front of the wire Baobab tree to just behind it.
