Woah, you didn’t expect to see my ugly mugg so early on a Monday morning. My apologies. I don’t usually splatter self portraits over the ‘net, but this time I just couldn’t help myself.
What got me excited about this one is that I’m finally getting the hang of these colour gels. I was shooting using a white balance set for flash, which would ordinarily have rendered the two lights white. I then added some warmth to my face using a 1/2 CTO orange gel, and lit the background using a heavy green. I placed a grill (well, okay, a washing basket) in front of the background to create some shadows as I thought a plain green wall would be a little boring.
