I also shot some video of it going under, but it seems to pulse every few seconds. I think this is because I shot the video on a whim, so I still had the camera in aperture priority mode and it was compensating for the change in brightness, but not in a linear way. Grr… oh well, lesson learnt.

Of course, this being the main highway connecting everything that’s north of Pretoria with everything that’s south you’d expect to see cars on it at all times, even late at night. True.

To get the image above I shot multiple exposures of the same scene until I had 100% of the surface area covered. I then layered them over each other in Photoshop and erased all the cars until all I had left was highway. Neat.

What’s the catch?

Of course there’s a catch, a few in fact. I’m only doing this until 23 December 2010. You’ll need to come to my home studio, which is in Pretoria. How many photos I take, process and make available to you is entirely up to my discretion. Since I’m only one person, and I still need to do enough work to make a living, places are limited. That makes this a first come, first served offer, and I reserve the right to say no to anyone at any stage without having to provide a reason.

I also reserve the right to use the photos I take on my blog, in my portfolio, Facebook page or 75, and to sell them in a gallery. I won’t ever sell them to any sort of stock photo website, or license them for resale in any way.

Note: You are entirely responsible for your own make-up and wardrobe.

What do you get out of it?

A portrait. You get a full resolution, processed, jpeg file of the portrait(s). You get full rights to do with your own image whatever you like, for ever.

What do you need to do?

If you want to take me up on this offer all you need to do is surf on over to my contact page and drop me a note with your contact details (phone and email) as well as two or three days and times that will suit you. Weekdays are preferred, but I might agree to a shoot on weekends.

How long will it take?

You will probably be in and out in less than 30 minutes. Processing your image will take me a while longer, depending on volumes. I will let you know once your portrait is ready. (Probably by emailing it to you.)
